All of our rides will begin in the town of Pesaro; an Adriatic sea resort east of Tuscany.
Our Hosts
We spend our week in a European beachside resort hotel, and stay in superior rooms offering sea views from walk-out balconies!
We can step out of the front door directly to the beach coast of the Adriatic Riviera ... pre or post-ride.
We will eat the finest food found anywhere on the Italian Peninsula, and enjoy local specialties daily.
We will eat as many pastries as we want, drink spectacular red and white wine, then mangia double scoops of Gelato during evening walks in piazza.
The only downside is that unless you have an Italian "Mama or Nonna" to cook for you; you will be ruined for Italian food until your return!
FAQS
How do I get to Pesaro?
The easiest way to arrive in Pesaro is from a major European airport with connecting flights to Ancona, Bologna, or Rimini. Frequent and very reliable train
service is available to Pesaro from these Italian cities:
- Ancona: 40m
- Bologna: 1.5h
- Rimini: 0.5h
Does my trip include airfare from the U.S.?
Unfortunately, no. With people arriving in Italia from many North American destinations, we allow you to make travel plans and price your own flight from the city
and/or nation of departure. If you wish, we can recommend a travel agent. In most instances, making travel plans early is helpful in securing the lowest priced
airfare. We believe the best way for you to arrive in Pesaro is left to you. Once you get here, we will take care of your lodging and riding needs all week!
Other than my bike and cycling gear, what do I need to bring?
Once booked for BTR, we will send you a list of suggested clothing and items that can make your experience easy, enjoyable and memorable. Definitely bring your
riding legs!
Can I come by myself; or must I find a travel companion?
We believe in keeping our ride limited to small groups (12 riders max). If you wish to travel solo, please feel free. We can pair you with another rider
to share lodging if you wish. If you prefer a single room, a single room supplement of $500 USD will be necessary to complete this request. If you and a
fellow member wish to share a room on the arrival date, we will make arrangements to credit you when the week is complete.
How far and fast will I ride daily?
We ride anywhere from 60 to 140 km per day. The rides are comfortably paced training level group rides. "Hammer Dropping" is fine if you wish, and exhilerating if you
want to ride with the locals. Our only requirement in regard to pace is that you remain in control of your bike with respect and safety for all other riders you encounter.
Do I need to speak Italian?
No, non e' necessario! English works very well in and around the hotel. Some basic Italian phrases will help you enjoy speaking with others; there is a lifetime of stories and adventure in the attempt!
Do we stop during the daily rides?
You may stop as often as you wish. If you fall behind, we have easily followed routes and excellent maps. If you wish to ride solo, please be our guest. If you wish
to start earlier or later than the group you are welcome to do so. When you see something you wish to photograph, chances are someone else will wish to stop as well.
Riding solo is ok if you desire. Finding a partner or smaller group to ride with is generally not difficult if you wish to ride faster or slower than the main group.
Do I need to be in great riding condition in order to ride Bici in Tre Regioni?
Our ride is geared for the rider who wishes to enjoy the views while challenging themselves and obtaining an increased level of fitness throughout the week. Standard
pace for our rides is generally between 12-18 mph flatland and 39/26 gearing (recommended for climbs). A weeks worth of bicycle riding requires a certain amount of preparation.
The more you have - the more you will enjoy your tour. Please have some spring ride training in so you can take advantage of all riding Italia has to offer.
